Pensioners from the ranks of the Association of Invaluated Labour Pensioners in the Pristina municipality have indicted the Government of Kosovo for not growing pensions, which they have filed individually.

They complain that current pensions do not, at any time, offer the possibility of living due to high prices. They also require cleaning up the retirement list because there are many who receive pensions in Kosovo as well, but also from other countries, Switzerland or Germany.

Pensioners from the Pensioners' Association, Hajrush Emini, have told Kosovo that they agree to increase pensions, but also must clear lists of those receiving from two pensions.

It's hard to do something about retirement under these conditions. Without cleaning up the pensioners' lists, it's hard to do something because we have thousands of people taking them from two pensions, Switzerland and here. We've got veterans, 40,000 people who, if one is taken off, get a pension of 680 euros. The second one, we have Serbia threatening us every day, has been budgeted over five million, now there are 300 million for the army. Otherwise, I have a pension of education, a little better than others. I am convinced that without cleaning the lists, it is difficult to improve the situation. There are 20 categories of pensioners, we need all categories to be seen... there are no people who don't agree to increase pensions, but reasonably, without being politicised... they have taken initiative to sue, to sue Government for why they haven't raised pensions on the basis of inflation, but instead of being indicted by one subject, the leadership to sue in the name of pensioners, they have each sent”, Amyni said.

Pensioner Qamil Haliti expresses anger at the current government, saying he has neglected this sensitive category of society.

It didn't help us, it destroyed us. The reason is that for these three years everything has grown, not by just 15 percent, but by 100 percent. Pensioners, but even the education of veterans, this one doesn't want anyone, he wants only Serboslav, that he's created for the disappearance of the Albanian people in Kosovo, especially for Kosovo, there's no national sentiment... They're saying three and a half years of government, there's never been a single stone in Kosovo, for everything has gone back, and with association has made it a mess, which means he's put us on the road without a head, where Kosovo now has the most difficult situation, never had this... We don't play a part in pensioners, we don't have the upper hand, we don't even have Baralevs. How they spot us, that's how we go. We get money, we get it like it didn't get it and we don't expect it to. At least pensioners are those war veterans who don't want to see eye to eye in Kosovo. This even has no place in Kosovo, because it has ruined every space, every intelligence has disappeared. Even his youth took him out of his homeland... Does Kosovo have to develop with me for 72 years, huh? There's gotta be youth where they're hiring... I don't see he did anything, but he just destroyed the”, all Haliti said.

Similarly expressed is the other pensioner, Kadrush Bulatovci, who criticises Kurti Government for not helping that category. He says he has been attached to others in the indictment filed against the Government for not growing pensions.

“Never helped, nothing should... What's with complaints, like everybody else what they do, I've delivered a letter and I've been attached, but nothing has”, he said.

Otherwise, the Kosovo government could decide on the new amount of pensions depending on the rate of inflation and budgetary opportunities. Under the Law for Pension Scheme, harmonisation of pensioners with the cost of living takes place once a year, increasing the amount to be paid at the same percentage based on the pre-year cost index. Pensioners receive 100 to 260 euros per month, depending on categories.
