The closure of Al Jazeera from Israel leads to the wrong “synal”, Germany says

The closure of the Al Jazeera news network by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyah on Sunday has been criticised by German authorities, CNN reports. “A free and varied media landscape is a key cornerstone of any liberal democracy. “A free and varied media landscape is a key cornerstone of any liberal democracy. Especially in times of crisis, it is especially important to protect press freedom. Israeli authorities' decision to close AlJazeer in Israel sends the wrong signal”, the German Foreign Ministry said on Monday.
Human rights groups condemned the Israeli authorities' move to close the Qatar-based network, which has produced ongoing reports of Israel's military campaign in Gaza on the ground.
Concerns increase: The Israeli Communications Ministry said Sunday it had closed Al Jazeera's offices in Jerusalem and that it had confiscated its communication equipment. Netanyah's government accused the channel of anti-Israel prejudice and of being a Hamas “spokeswoman”.
Al Jazeera again denied Israel's false <x0 specifications about our violation of professional frameworks regulating media work”.
The move to close the network comes amid growing concerns by media freedom groups for victims among journalists operating in war zones and what they describe as obstructing journalistic work by Israeli authorities.
