MP Balje: Kurt's Declaration on Civil Code is provocative

Kosovo Assembly MP Duda Balje has said that Prime Minister Albin Kurti's statement will try to pass the Civil Code, including same-sex marriage.

The one in “Debat Plus” said Kurti talked about religion even though he says we are a secular state.

For me personally, there was a provocative statement, no religion would allow that. The prime minister spoke of religion, when I spoke, he said you were not right because we are a secular state”, she said.

She said she wouldn't vote on the Civil Code unless the article is removed for same-sex marriage.

“I can't accept, we've allowed the LGBT community to own the civil code. When we're talking about the civil code, we're talking about them. It's the most important law in the country, it's perfect, I consider the second point problematic. We have told the government to make a special law for LGBT, come from the civil code, make a special law, we vote on the civil code”, she said.

I got nothing against them. No other community is specific like that.
