The Kosovo Assembly has approved agreement with Denmark's Kingdom for the exploitation of the correctional institution in Gjilan with the aim of executing Danish sentences.
With 86 votes for, 7 against and no abstention, MPs gave the green light to this agreement.
Economy Minister Artane Rizvanolli said that from this agreement Kosovo will earn 15m euros in fixed fees annually.
The aim of this treaty is further strengthening of existing co-operation relations between Kosovo and Denmark. Under the treaty Kosovo will make available adequate capacities for 300 Denmark inmates, and therefore Kosovo will benefit in exchange for the 15m-euro fixed annual fee and another 6m euros for green energy”, Rizvanolli said.
We remember that this agreement had failed to be approved in the Parliament at the session held a week ago.
While the government at the meeting held on Monday has approved it and is sending it back to the Assembly.
