According to Mundo Deportivo journalist Fernando Polo, Xavi has a list of three conditions to continue in his role as Barcelona coach.
Condition 1 says Barca must perform well in the Champions League this season, whether to reach the final or even win it. Barca also has to fight for La League to the end. This request is the team, not the club manager.
The second condition says Barca must sign with some important players to help improve the team. Xavi is full of reliance on teenagers, no matter how good they are.
Thus, Xavi wants the leaders to ensure that he will sign with players he had previously convinced to join the club like Martin Zubimendi or Joshua Kimmitch and of course Bernardo Silva. None of these players are worth less than 50m euros.
The third condition is said to require guarantees that Barca can overcome her problems with Fair Financial Play and register players in time to start the new season.
Xavi was frustrated that Barca had to wait until the last minute to register almost half of her team's salaries in La League. It is a strong signal that the club lacks the financial ability to build a large team to compete in today's soccer climate.
Xavi's demands are valid, but the no.2 condition seems almost impossible, since Barca cannot afford to sign players without selling some. That means weakening the team, which Xavi doesn't want.
Barca leaders still hope they can convince Xavi with their long-term project plans.
