During the day hundreds of Kosovo citizens have been detained in Serbia as they entered to cross across other European states. That prompted reactions from Kosovo and the European Union, which said Serbia is violating the Free Movement Agreement.
But, Serbia's Interior Ministry has denied that there has been planned ban, presenting them as normal delays.
Through a communique it's all about security issues.
“The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia over accusations of stopping buses with signs of registration from Kosovo territory at border crossings, stresses that these charges are groundless and that police have not stopped anyone or prevented the entry of any citizen from Kosovo territory”, the report said.
Further, only security checks are being conducted, adding that Kosovo citizens can enter without stumbling.
The control of all travellers at border crossings is under way and security checks are being conducted, all with the aim of boosting the safety and security of citizens, which could cause longer delays at the border crossing itself. The Ministry of Internal Affairs once again stresses that all citizens from Kosovo's territory are allowed unhindered entry and strongly refuses the institutions that they were denied access due to the possession of documents issued by Kosovo institutions. We call on authorities in Pristina not to spread panic and inform the public” falsely, the report says.
