Reporting before the US Senate, General Cavoli said NATO should send not only more troops but also the most heavy artillery to Kosovo, while praising France's role, whose aircraft carrier is located on the Adriatic Sea.
“We have made a review of the plan and showed that we need not only more forces, but also the most heavy NATO artillery to deploy to the region. Troops must be increased in Bosnia and KFOR in Kosovo for oversight, detection and monitoring threats against them”, General Cavoli said.
Supreme Allied Commander of NATO for Europe has considered Russia a “chronic threat” for the world, while seeing the disturbing fact that there is a strategic alliance between Russia, China, Iran and North Korea.
We are facing challenging times, if not less, at the European theater. Russia's brutal and unprohibited war has destroyed Ukraine for more than two years. Russian forces are destroying cities and destroying innocent lives on a scale we haven't seen since World War II. These countries are creating interconnected strategic partnerships in an effort to challenge the existing rule. This is deeply hostile to US national interests”, Cavoli said.
