The Kosovo Women's Network has reacted to two murders that occurred days, where the victims were women.
Today, Edmond Lajqi killed his wife, Ukalla.
The tragic event took place in Pec.
Until five days ago in Ferizaj, 21-year-old Erona Cokli was killed by her former husband, Valon Aliu.
The RGK's reaction says that “women are being killed just because they're women”.
“Burrat are continuing to think they have the right to decide for the lives of women and girls around”, it says in response.
In this position where women and girls are put, our reaction seems without any influence.
“Today all society must become the voice of women and girls. Today we all need to feel guilty about the tolerance we have against violence and the murders of women”, said in response.
Women's deaths should be addressed with national urgency. Today, our state must immediately start urgently to address the prevention of gender-based and childicide violence by ensuring that all relevant acts of gender-based violence are available to all mechanisms with the aim of providing the best services for victims, with the central victim, as the Convention of Istanbul requires, part of the Constitution of Kosovo. Changing engagement of gender stereotypes through generation education for respect for the freedoms and rights of each citizen and citizen of Kosovo”.
This organisation also has an order for Kosovo justice.
“Today, the defence system must be pledged that it will do its best to ensure that the agents of violence receive merit sentences and that the victims will be treated with dignity and dedication so that the experiences of violence do not repeat themselves. Today society in general must hold itself responsible for the killings of women and the systematic violence women are experiencing. Only united can we combat gender-based violence and the murders of women”.
The brother of the murdered woman relates new details: He was a junkie.
