According to the announcement, Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi after the meeting has indicated that this meeting was neither the last nor the first for the dinar, but to address the models with which Serbia can continue sending financial support to Kosovo Serbs within the BQ regulation.
This appointment was neither the last nor the first one for the dinar, I think it's time to avoid this information error. The meeting is to address models with which Serbia can continue sending financial support to Kosovo Serbs within the BEC regulation. The CEC's regulation does not mention the dinar, therefore there is no discussion of the dinar”, Bislimi has declared.
He has said Serbia refused to co-operate and to place the interest of citizens as a priority, insisting on licensing an illegal entity like “Postanska Banka”.
Following the EU proposal, Bislimi says the Serbian side has not been ready to reflect on this proposal and have required additional time, so let the next meeting be held after two weeks in Brussels again.
We've had big differences today. While the Kosovo side has discussed options for how Serbian citizens can receive financial support even further from Serbia, the Serbian side has worked as “Postanska Banka” and have been discussing how to adjust the licensing of this bank, which is neither competence nor the interest of the parties involved, said Bislim.
Bislimi also said the Serbian side did not accept a proposal of Lajcak's “consolidised”, which “we believe is constructive and on the right track to find a solution, which mostly suits citizens and respects Central Bank regulation”.
“. . Seeing the inability to reach a compromise, Mr. Lajcak has issued a proposal on his part, a consolidated proposal, for which we believe it is a constructive proposal and on the right path to find a solution which mostly suits Serbian citizens in Kosovo, but at the same time also respects the BEC rule as a whole. Yet the Serb side has not been ready to reflect on this proposal and have requested additional time”, he has followed.
Bislimia has now stressed that it has become clear to Serbia that the next meeting can only be held if they are willing to come with ideas for compromise and that there is no “Postanska Banka” in Kosovo.
“legally in Kosovo, there is no “Postanska Banka” and one of the principles agreed on is the solution to ensure legitimacy in its entirety, therefore something that is not legitimate cannot be part of the solution. I think this has become clear to the Serbian side, and during the past week and today it is clear to Mr. Lajcak”
