The 40-year-old, one of only 14 football players who played for Manchester United and Manchester City, spent the night at a clinic in Buenos Aires after seeking medical assistance.
He will undergo more tests today in another hospital nearby. The club managing the retired attacker, Independent, confirmed his admission to the hospital overnight after saying the initial results had been satisfactory.
Local reports have linked stress problems. Tevez has yet to make any official comment.
Independent said in a statement: our “trainer, Carlos Tevez, went to La Trinidad Hospital in San Isidro with chest pains. He's done the corresponding tests and they've been satisfactory”.
