Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has announced today that Guyana, the leader of the UN Security Council, has decided that Thursday's session for Kosovo will be open.
Dacic has told Serbian television RTS, that after a conversation with Guyana's foreign minister, this country has instructed the head of the UN mission to assign an open-format session without a vote.
The “Ende has not been officially disclosed, but according to the information we have, Guyana has decided that the session will be open, yet it has not been officially announced on the Security Council page, but we have received information from Guyana's foreign minister that Security Council members have accepted Guyana's decision to set an open session.
It is very important that our president, Aleksandar Vucic, speak at an open session and his speech be visible, so that all “reasons and arguments” why we requested emergency hearings to be heard by all.
He has claimed that in the last two days, there have been intensive behind-stage games and pressures within the UN Security Council that the leader of this body, Guyana, appoint a closed session.
The Western countries and EU countries demanded that the session be closed for reasons that “only know those”. For us this was a very difficult fight that we won”, Dacic said.
