Within this start of the year, 20 doctors have requested necessary documentation near the Kosovo Medical Association for evacuation to Western states, mainly in Germany. So said Friday, OPC chairman Pleatat Sejdiu for Online Economy.
He said that this trend is the same and that measures are required to prevent this escape, otherwise within two years, would be seen as lack of them at the tespriar level.
Although the number of those seeking employment outside Kosovo is large, another 440 doctors, according to Sejdiu, are unemployed. For that, he seeks to settle as soon as possible.
This year's “These one and a half months are 20 of our colleagues who have only received enough documentation to sign contracts with Western states, in this case most in Germany. Some of them are on the run in the last few days or weeks. The trend is the same as in the past years that unfortunately I can say that within two years their lack at the tercirar level, at the primary level, only is being felt. It's a managerial problem as well as a political one. We have about 440 unemployed doctors waiting to be hired, the primary system didn't do what it should do to get them to work and distribute them. Currently, the doctor is in a bad position, there are no jobs, they are under pressure to leave Kosovo by himself speaking, they don't see a perspective”, Sejdiu said during the commemoration of Health Professionals' Day.
In the obelisk built before the main entrance of the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo, it was said that the contribution of health professionals over the years has been great.
The chairman of the OPC said that today the offices of health professionals in Kosovo commemorate the sacrifice of health workers for centuries.
“The main challenges we have now are working conditions which, despite improvements over the years, are not what the health worker would be able to give his maximum on the qualitative side. The newest challenge we now have is the removal of young doctors who would have to change our generation, upgrade the system, unfortunately we have trends that scare us up eventually”, Sejdiu said.
