Liverpool is in search of deputy Jurgen Klopp, who is expected to leave the club at the end of the season.
The German technician through a video message directed to the club's fans had said that the decision was made because it is feeling that there is no more energy left to go on.
Melissa Reddy of Sky Sports has reported that Liverpool's criteria for the new coach goes beyond being a world-class coach.
There are statistics that help determine the candidate's ability to improve the team's status, but “Red” is not seeing numbers.
The new coach will have to be able to establish an emotional connection with fans, the city of Liverpool and the club in general.
The club board is looking for a person with whom players, staff and fans would feel good.
Liverpool's favorite candidate for this position remains Xabi Alonso, who is currently doing excellent work at Bayer Leverkusen, but remains to be seen at the end of the season if they can secure his services.
