The trial against Danny Alves begins this Monday. The first session is scheduled for 10:00, and will be held in the Royal Audioncia de Barcelona.
The Brazilian player is responsible for suspected sexual abuse, dating back to the night of December 30, 2022, when the Brazilian defender allegedly sexually attacked a 23-year-old girl at a nightclub in Barcelona.
Danny Alves has been in custody since January 2023. The footballer's defence also called for parole, which was rejected by courts because of the high risk of escape.
More than 270 journalists from around the world have been accredited for the first session. The media will be able to follow all the trial in an adjacent room, via a TV available in the hall. However, journalists are not authorised to shoot or photograph images or record audio. They will be able to broadcast only in writing and directly the statements of the player and witness.
Meanwhile, Spanish media are directly bringing images of Danny Alvesh's arrival to court.
The player faces a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison. The defence will use Brazilian alcohol as a relief factor and also present club tickets to prove the case.
Catalonia's Supreme Court reported that the preliminary phase of questioning will take place this Monday: six witnesses have been appointed, and the player's testimony will be made in principle. On Tuesday the witness will be dedicated and 22 witnesses from a total of 28. Tests of expertise will be presented Wednesday. /Top Channel
