In the new indictment, Thaci is charged with three counts of attempted obstruction of official persons in carrying out official duties, by participating in the joint action of a group; four counts of violations of the secret of the procedure, and four counts of disobedience to the tribunal.
Thaci ić, who is being tried by this court in a case divided against former KLA war crimes and crimes against humanity, has been charged with co-ordinating “separate groups” along with Smajan, Cicin, Kucin and Fazliu to influence evidence of prosecution witnesses in his case and others for war crimes.
“S at least between April 12th 2023 and November 2, 2023, during privileged visits to the detention facility, Mr. Thaci gave Mr. Smaj, Mr. Kilaj, Mr. Fazliu and Mr. Kuci confidential information about SPS witnesses, instructions to influence the evidence of SPS witnesses and details about how they should do this”, said in the indictment.
Thaci, along with former head of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency, the Smaj Union, the former head of Malisheva, Isni Kilaj, and Fadil Fazliu, will have their first presentation tomorrow regarding the indictment confirmed last night for influence over witnesses. Meanwhile, former Justice Minister Hajredin Kuci will have his first appearance Monday.
The Special Court's announcement reportedly will begin with Thaci's presentation.
“In accordance with the DHSK Procedure and Testing Rule, first submission hearings for four of the accused in this court case, Mr. Thaci, Mr. Thaci. Smaj, Mr. Fazliu and Mr. Kilaj é on Sunday, December 8, 2024, beginning at 09:30, with Mr. Thaci. Hajredin Kuci's first appearance session is scheduled for Monday, December 9, 2024, at 10:18x1>, the announcement said.
The opening sessions will be public and can be followed in Albanian, English or Serbian languages via the broadcast site on the DHSK website, with a ten-minute delay, or by public gallery at court headquarters.
