The mayor of Podujevo, Bulqi, has commented on the fall of the municipality's revenues, which he is leading from property tax, linking the situation to the decision to pardon debts to 100 euros.
The problem is to forgive 100 euro debt. This is the key factor that has happened in this process and we as the Communists have reduced our own revenues and we are hoping that the following years will become a kind of compensation, he said.
Bulqi added that it was a decision by past governments, which resulted in results, which last year was meant to come into force but later suffered changes.
A decision that took place by previous governments which last year, when it had to be implemented and we saw that they had changed and that was the decision, and a decision was made in the case of the municipal assembly, for the release of all those who have a fortune under 100 euros of this tax, and that's what Bulliqi told them about FrontOline.
The Podujevo municipality, in 2022, had acquired 420 thousand euros in property tax, in 2023 it had 520 thousand, until in 2024 there was 240 thousand euros in property tax revenues, or in percentages it was 59% less for 2024/2023, causing this municipality to fail in collecting property revenues, and among municipalities with the slightest reduction of income collection from property tax.
