Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama, during the weekend conference, has made a resume of the most important developments of 2024, stressing what the top priorities will be for the new year.
He named the moment extremely significant for the year we leave behind, the opening of negotiations with the European Union, emphasising the importance of key group chapters such as the fundamentals and external relations.
Another important achievement for this year, according to Rama, is Albania's release from the full monitoring phase of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, after 29 years.
The prime minister expressed optimism that Albania will join the EU within this decade.
A significant development is the opening of negotiations for EU membership, practically of two very important groups starting with the cores that are group groups and then even foreign relations. It's important to stress here something that you've heard, that this extraordinary process for the volume of intensity work and quality would be impossible if a large national team of Albania, with hundreds and hundreds of administration employees, hadn't done a great job with screing before.
This year, even this is a significant fact, although I am not a regular news reporter, has not made the right fuss, Albania has emerged after 29 years from the full monitoring phase of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. We are not a country under full monitoring, but like all the countries we want and join the EU within this decade. Albania has become the promoter and has succeeded in pushing and making possible by joining in co-operation with other countries in the region.
Not only did an unprecedented dialogue between the EC, member states and candidate countries, from which the new EU growth plan in support of Western Balkan countries, come as a concrete result. We're going to absorb 1 ml plus and have the green light to join the European family in several segments of the functioning of United Europe. As of November 21st, thanks to the growth plan, Albanians worldwide making transfers of money from the EU area to Albania will no longer have any extra commission for transfers, that Albania is officially a member of SEPA”, Rama said.
