Lubeck is a city in Germany, in Schleswig-Holstein.
The club has announced it is facing bankruptcy and that in the next 48 hours it must raise one million euros to save itself.
A comprehensive analysis of the current financial situation has identified a considerable lack of liquidity, which presents a major financial challenge for the Supervisor Board and management”, writes club management.
“We urge all to stand by us at this difficult moment to think about how to support us. Any timely support is important, whether in the form of sponsorship, donations or other measures. We can only save Lubeck together and overcome this existential crisis”, Lubeck's fans reportedly indicated how ready they are to save their club.
The club announced on Sunday afternoon that it had managed to collect a million euros from fans, supporters and sponsors over the past few days.
At a Mass in Lubeck early on Sunday evening, news of the rescue was officially reported to fans. About 4,500 people attended.
The club later made known the news in its official channels: <x0, sensational, unique, that's history, although it's hard to describe in words what we experienced, we gathered, we separated and we arrived together as the Lubeck family. We raised the necessary amount of one million euros, Lubeck is alive!”, the club reported.
