Cana: UEFA should not leave us in group with Serbia

Everyone remembers what happened 10 years ago in Belgrade, where Serbian fans went into the field and started hitting Albanian football players with what they were facing, with the CAS establishing justice giving our national victory at table 0-3, rejecting the strange decision on the part of the U. The EFA that did the opposite.

Former National captain Lorik Canba has confessed in an interview for Top Channel, what he expects from the next two challenges that will decide and Albania's destiny for a world country.

The only year we could've caught some equality was in the 2014 World because I think we've been in a catch group, but we haven't achieved a kind of maturity as a team.

This year, let's say we're in the third vase for the first time, and that makes our journey with only one opponent to be left behind. It's easier said than done. I would only see part of Serbia as a high-level opponent that we should pretend to compete to the end with.

Of course there are players who have been, I think it's an experience they have in the trunk. And for young boys who weren't 10 years ago, it's gonna be an episode that makes them more willing to be part of the national team.

I'm very convinced that it is something that helps them with the virtues and sacrifice that should be made for the national team. As for the rules that are set, FIFA and UEFA have rules for countries that are in direct conflict or that have political approaches designed to stop these matches.

I think about what we have experienced as a nation and especially the part of Albanians in Yugoslavia, it seemed to me that in the first time something not logical to face then this should not be an obstacle for us. Ten years ago, we left them behind in the rankings, and there's something we can do in the same way that the group is England's favorite for the first place.

At the time, I had two Serbian players at Lazio, but also in other teams, and I talked to them.

I think one of the main reasons that there hasn't been a tragedy that night, because we didn't at that moment perceive it, we just reacted in our most natural way, but it was the protection that a part of the Serbian team gave us, and that's not to be overlooked. I guess the two teams don't want the events repeated because they eventually got it and were sentenced to the end.

But now we have to build the values as a team on technical terms and then as a national element to claim something and be an inspiration not only for national team players, but for all who identify with red and black colors.

It's an evening that we often remember, what we did and how we behaved has been something very spontaneous. It has shown the true spirit of the team because when man has the right intentions to protect each other and our symbols or our country then there is nothing wrong in the middle. On the contrary, the evening, which at that time has solidified and collected even more of the people, our people and fans with the national team, has been an important moment for the national team's meaning and finally closed with a qualifications. I guess this is gonna be an inspiration for the national guys to give you their best. I think the difference between the two teams is not large even though they have some players that are probably higher.

The fact that there's gonna be fans is very normal to me because nobody guarantees the order and safety of the fans to come. Although we have testified many times that we know how to wait because the Albanian does not expect us to, in this case if I can call his opponent “who comes to our home and in many cases we are more of a word in this regard.

Of course football should be with fans, there must be rival fans, but the relationship we have with Serbian society in general and with the situation where Albania and Serbia are still involved remains always between the identity of Kosovo and the travel we've had and still there is no final solution that makes this situation delicate.

The two countries have not been in direct conflict and do not seek each other's territories, and then the match is automatically without fans, but I think in the current situation, I believe it is best to wait at home without opposing fans. It ensures a kind of prosperity. I don't expect the same events or distant even violence within the field, especially from our side. I think we need to be mature enough as we've witnessed and by the time Serbia came to us, that we look at things differently, we think differently, and we think we do differently, and that's what I believe is an example that we give everybody”.
