Russia sends 55 satellites into orbit

Russia has sent 55 satellites into orbit, including two Iranian satellites, as Moscow and Tehran continue to deepen co-operation. The Soyuz rocket, launched by Russia's Far East, carried these satellites, Russian space agency Roscosmos said. In total, Roscosmos said 51 Russian satellites, a Russo-Chinese device, a Russian and Zimbabwe satellite, and two Iranian satellites were sent into orbit.
Roscosmos said that “is the record number of Russian satellites sent simultaneously to orbit”.
Iran's two visual and communications satellites -- Kosvar and Hodhod -- are designed and built by Iran's Omid Stage company. Satellites aim to monitor the environment and communications in remote areas.
Tehran said it is the first time Russia has sent satellites produced by Iran's private company into orbit.
The two states have deepened political, economic and military reports as Russia continues its fight against Ukraine. The deepening co-operation between Moscow and Tehran has raised concerns in the West. /rel
