The 105th witness in the case of Thaci and others: I was accused of killing Albanians, it was an excuse for my ban.

This witness is defensive and is testifying through the video connection and according to the chairman of the jury, for health reasons this witness took his solemn oath. He during the public testimony said he was detained and as an excuse for his ban has been said to have killed Albanians.

I was just accused of killing some Albanians. It made no sense at all that it was simply a justification for my ban”, the witness said, answering the prosecutor's questions, Caesar Mihailzcuk.

Before that, however, the prosecutor read a summary of the witness indicating that during the ban, the same had been beaten and mistreated, reports “The Justice Act”.

“in 1999, witness 00344 was kidnapped by armed KLA members in front of his home and sent by car to a KLA detention site, witness 00344, has been held there with several other detainees. During his ban, he has been beaten constantly and has heard that other detainees have also been mistreated in many cases”, he said.

The prosecutor said the witness has physical and psychological consequences as a result of that ban and the mistreatment they have received there.

The witness 00344 has been released a few days after being stopped and left Kosovo several days later. As a result of his mistreatment in the ban, he continues to suffer from problems of physical and psychological change to this day, he said.

When asked if anyone had told him in detention what he was accused of, the witness said that no one had told him that directly.

No, they didn't ask me any questions directly. They just accused me of killing some Albanians. It made no sense at all that it was simply a rationale-justification for my ban”, the witness said.

The rest of the witness's testimony went into edited content and then the session went to private.

According to the chief judge, the testimony this witness is expected to last less than a day, and by this time, the prosecution has indicated it takes only one hour for questioning.

The defender will also ask the victims, who has indicated it takes about 15 minutes. While the defendants' defence has indicated it takes about an hour and 15 minutes.

It is noteworthy that at the request of the SPS, all previous witness statements, along with escort materials in the court's three official languages, were accepted in material evidence.

Otherwise, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office, on September 30th, 2022, has handed over the confirmed amended indictment against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, which consists of ten points of charges, where the latter are charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity.

On April 29th 2022, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office had handed over a amended indictment to Hashim Thaci, Kadri Wessel, Rexhepi and Jakup Krasniqi, where four indictees have committed war crimes even in Gjilan, Budakov and Semtish.

On November 9th 2020, in their first appearances, Hashim Thaci's Jakup Krasniqi has been declared innocent of the charges placed on them. Wessel has also been declared in his presentation on November 10th, as has Rexhep Selimi on November 11th.

The incident against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi is confirmed on October 26, 2020.
