Thaci's former roommate writes: Then Hashim Thaci had only one dream

Former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Izmi Zekaj has suggested that former Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, who is being tried in The Hague, has had roommates during studies.

Commenting on today's Special Court session, he has remembered student days with the former Kosovo prime minister.

In his account in “Facebook”, Zeka wrote that at the time Thaci had only one dream.

You did what hundreds of years ago didn't. You, my friend, Hashim Thaci then had only one dream... When I met you, we were in early student years. We were young and dreamers... Our dream took on real size, because maturity grew along with the rise of Yugoslav depression over our being. The escalation of oppression did not repel protests by peaceful means... The reality entered the harshest cycle of violence; that world my friend entered the narrow and fiery path: facing Serbia, with its killing machine, until their heroic act with theirs! Someone had other dreams... The young man's assault, with fellow conception companions, with the barrel directed at bloody Serbia, would also consider “that it was dangerous and fatal!”, Zakaj wrote.

According to him, Thaci had at the time dreamed of Albania's union.

Well, my friend of the '90s was young, and his dreams of bravery had thrown his fear away. We were young and cast out the fear of our soul. Our dreams at the University of Pristina had taken a course towards Kosovo liberation. You, my friend, Hashim Thaci then had only one dream: United Albania! Your dream was a dream of breaking the yoke, a dream of ousting the Serb savage regime; a dream of once and for all removing that hateful anti-Albanian and anti-Albanian regime, Zeka wrote.
