With much interest, the match between Serbia and Switzerland, which belongs to Group 4 of League A of Nations. The match takes place from 20:45 in Leskovc on Saturday.
Swiss representative, who has Granit Jaka for the captain, has gathered on Monday, the same as other European representatives. Switzerland does not plan training in Leskovc.
On Friday, 11:00 p.m., heavitists are practicing in St. Gallen, while at 4: 00 p.m. they travel to Nis. At 7:15 a.m. in Leskovc, Switzerland holds a press conference in which the selective Murat Yakin and a player will be in. But the likelihood of Captain Jaka being captain is not too big, due to his past in matches with Serbia. Gerdan Shaqiri's Jaka has led Switzerland to spectacular victories over Serbia in the last two Worlds. And they're quite hated by Serbian fans even by the way they celebrated.
Serbia's Football Federation has announced strict security measures in the match against Switzerland. Among other things, the Serbian Federation has announced that only access will be allowed with state-run “ibols” and Federation. So it has become clear that no provocative flags are allowed to Kosovo, due to the punishments that would come from the U. EFA. For provocative flags against Kosovo and the Albanians, the Serbian Federation has recently been condemned in “Euro 2024” but also many times earlier.
According to the Serbian Federation's announcement, tickets are personal and access will be allowed only with identification documents.
Serbia's “Football Forum is under special U monitoring EFA, therefore we appeal that all the acts of the event jointly take part in preventing any corruption in the order and tranquillity, especially for the shooting of items in the playing field and illegal calls”, writes in the Serbian Federation's announcement.
Serbia's Selector, Dragan Stojkovic, has said Thursday he does not expect provocations in the match. He praised Jaka as a player.
I believe people know the past and provocations. I like the fight to be right. The way the teams should play. So that behaviors in the Tribonne and the fans are high. Those things should be forgotten and focused on soccer. I'm not afraid. This is absolutely absurd. Jaka's a big player and I know that. I really appreciate it. For many years I display world level. I don't think there's gonna be any problem”, Stojkovic stressed.
Switzerland has tried not to place too much importance on the evental tensions. Representatives Director Pierre Tami has said the focus will be on the match and on winning three points. Of course everything's gonna be around Jaka. Andy Zeqiri is another Albanian player in Switzerland.
“We do not want to belittle the issue or remain silent about it”, Tami has said, adding that they cannot control influence from outside or from the Serb side. He said a conversation is under consideration with Jaka before the match in Little Leskovci.
“We're focused on sports and we don't want to spend unnecessary energy”, Tami added.
Switzerland has not planned additional security measures for travel to Serbia. The team will accompany, as usual, three to five security members.
