The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPK), with 10 votes for and 1 abstention, has voted the Commission's report on recruiting new prosecutors. Thus, the 24 names of elected prosecutors will be sent to the country's president, Vjosa Osmani.
Kosovo Prosecutorial Council member from the civil society ranks Visar Krasniqi said his vote is abstention, given the fact that the system needs many new prosecutors, otherwise his vote would be against it.
This, according to him, is the cause of the process's performance. Krasniqi said that the failure of civil society and journalists to monitor this process is a huge mistake.
It's also been public that civil society is not allowed to monitor, it's been a huge mistake. Civil society can be involved in any phase they consider important, I hope it won't happen again”, he said at the 256th KKP meeting Thursday, reports “Justice Vow “, broadcast Klanosova.tv.
Kosovo's Institute for Justice (IKD), Movement FOL and Progress Initiative (INPO), through a communique for media, on September 9th, have expressed deep concern over the failure to prevent monitoring the process to recruit 28 new state prosecutors on the part of the Commission for Subscription to the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPK).
Similarly, for this commission report, the chairman of the recruiting Commission, Chief Special Prosecutor's Prosecutor Blerim Isufaj, reported, who has also shown the distribution of prosecutors to the Prosecutor.
