Loaded with US work in the OSCE, Catherine Brucker, in her address to the permanent council of this mission in Vienna, has said normalisation between Kosovo and Serbia should end with mutual recognition.
These comments, Brooker did in response to Cornelia Taylor's report, Chief of the O Mission Leader. The SEU in Kosovo.
The United States supports Kosovo as a sovereign, multiethnic democracy and urges its leaders to promote a society that respects rights and inclusives for all those living in Kosovo. The normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia through dialogue facilitated by the EU, as agreed by both countries, is essential to regional stability and prosperity. After all, the United States believes normalisation should end with mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia, as both seek to realise their EU aspirations”, Brooker has declared.
The US representative to the OSCE now expressed its strong desire for Kosovo to become part of this organisation.
We hold strong conviction that it is unfortunate that Kosovo is not a participating state of this organ and therefore is unable to speak to this organ itself. We look forward to the day when this could happen”, Sergeant Brooker.
Among other things, she expressed concern by the US for the prosperity of O'S Mission The SEU in Kosovo, “due to severe financial restrictions”.
It criticised the participating states for “inability” to reach consensus on a unified budget. This situation, Brucker said, has put unnecessary pressure on the capabilities of all field missions to carry out their mandates effectively, damaging everything from personnel and resources to implementing the programme.
Brooker called on all participating states to approve the Unified Budget as soon as possible.
