Kosovo under additional measures and conditions due to dialogue

Secretary - General NATO, Mark Rutte, has called for progress in the dialogue mediated by the European Union, which, as he said, is not continuing as NATO's alliance supports it. In a press proposal, Rutte expressed satisfaction with Germany's efforts to bring Western Balkan countries closer to the European Union and NATO, as was the meeting within the Berlin Process.

“We should be aware of tensions in the Western Balkans and the fact that the Pristina-Belgrade dialogue, which we support, is not moving forward as we would like. I am very pleased with the meeting held in Berlin this week under Chancellor Scholz's leadership of Western Balkan countries, because I know Germany is working especially hard to get that group close to the EU. New dynamics in the process of dialogue also called for Germany's Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, during the Berlin Process Summit. He reiterated that the European future of Kosovo and Serbia relates to results in dialogue.

The international community's table for progress in dialogue, according to Vetevendosje Movement MP Adnan Rrustemi, should be made over Serbia, as part of the construction in the dialogue process.

The dialogue process is at a crossroads due to Serbia's irresponsible behaviour, which refuses to sign Brussels' basic agreement, refuses to implement it and commits itself to violating it. This agreement has already been violated several times on the part of Serbia, while we have had no decisive, direct EU response as a fabler of this process. Kosovo cannot pay the price of destructuring Serbia”, Rrustemi said.

Meanwhile, the European Union has warned additional provisions for Kosovo and Serbia regarding the benefits of financial means from the EU's growth plan.

According to EU spokeswoman Ana Pisonero, the division of these tools, which are envisioned for Kosovo about ninem euros, will take place only after the assessment of the EU Foreign Service, which also has the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia under surveillance.

“What I can say is that these preconditions will be assessed by the Commission before the payments, and we will account for the role and contribution of the EU Foreign Service”, said Pisonero.

Meanwhile, the European Union is holding in force punitive measures against Kosovo, despite the government considering all conditions for its removal have been met.

Vetevendosje MP Adnan Rrustemi said linking dialogue with benefits from the EU fund and not removing punitive measures deepens injustice to Kosovo.

The connection is wrong. The measures have been unfair since the beginning. The measures must be taken as soon as possible because Kosovo is a constructive party. The EU's growth plan is based on reforms. Kosovo has submitted the reform plan and they have been approved by the EU and I think that the accession of the Growth Plan should be made in relation to meeting reforms, the criterion should not be diverted into a process that does not depend solely on Kosovo.”, Rrustemi told Rtv21.

The ongoing progress of dialogue is also seeking the US. US Ambassador to NATO Juliane Smith said Wednesday that Kosovo institutions have clear calls that greater investment in dialogue is needed so that Kosovo can be part of NATO's Partnership for Peace programme.
