Democratic League of Kosovo headship member Avdullah Hoti says there is no space for co-operation with Vetevendosje Movement following the February 9th elections. He emphasises that the LDK is working to win elections and government with the country, but instead claims they will stay in opposition.
Hoti in an interview for Kosovapress has spoken about his reports with LDK Chairman Lumir Abdixhiku, the LDK government programme and the rule of Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
I believe there is no area of co-operation between the LDK and the now ruling party. We're organizing to win these elections. If we take faith from citizens we run institutions and form the next government, if we don't win elections, we stay in opposition”, Hoti points out.
He claims that the LDK is not due to President Lumir Abdixhiku, but because of party values.
Hoti suggests he will be on the candidate list for MPs from the LDK ranks.
I'll be on the list of candidates seeking confidence from citizens. Chairman Abdixhiku has his responsibility to organize the entire LDK, prepare for the upcoming election campaign and carry out my job in the capacity I am in... I'm there, I carry out my duty and I devote my time and obedience to the LDK. I'm not there for Mr. Abdixhik and nobody else, but I'm there because of the beliefs that I have that this political subject has its values as centre-right party”, Hoti adds.
On the other hand, former prime minister addresses a host of criticisms against the Kurti government.
According to him, the same has failed since no major project has been carried out in four years in power.
The number of employees in Kosovo follows the trend of the last ten years. The AKP is not closed continues with waves of privatisation. The sovereign fund is nowhere, the development bank is nowhere, so what development we're talking about. There is no major project that this government can be proud of, nor is it even more completed. The main road in the country, the highway to Gjilan, the route to Podujevo, the Mitrovica road, to Peja, and full roads none of them have been completed. All have been initiated and budgeted on the preliminary governments. There is no major investment that took place in Kosovo”, he said.
