De Rossi: Discussions with Rome lasted 10 minutes

Daniele De Ross has given his first interview since his appointment as Roman coach.

The former Gialaros player replaced Jose Mourinho on Tuesday, almost immediately after the Portuguese dismissal from the coach's post.

De Rossi has contracted by the end of the 2023-24 season. This will be his second job as coach at the head of a professional team, after a short period at the top of SPAL at Serina B in the 2022-23 edition.

After already conducting several training sessions, under the direction of De Rossi Roma will face Hellas Verona in Serie A on Saturday, Kosova Prees conveyed.

It's exciting because I'm looking at many places and most importantly, many faces that have been with me for a great and wonderful part of my life. I am also aware that there is an important job to do and we cannot be here just looking around at how things have changed.”, he added.

When asked how he reacted to the offer to become a coach of his beloved Rome, De Ross replied:

I was surprised and excited. At that moment you realize it's really happening. I knew it was an opportunity, so it wasn't completely unclear. I said I was happy to meet them, to talk and share ideas, but it took no more than 10 minutes to close the deal.”, the Italian said.
