Lipjan risks losing many projects if paid 100 euros, Ahmeti says the government is “wa shoots ball” to municipalities

The head of this municipality says the executive has wanted to drop “top” municipalities with this decision. It shows that the tools are already dedicated to capital projects.

Ahmeti declared that the government did not have to raise the rate on property if it aimed at the welfare of citizens.

Ahmeti says that revenues stemming from taxes on property are dedicated to capital investments. Some projects, Ahmeti says they are in progress for next year.

The “These revenues that come from property tax we've encrypted and we've put into specific projects, part of these tools that we collect from property taxes are dedicated to development of projects and now the moment you forgive them, will automatically fail all these projects that are pre-investmented budgetary revenues, we think it's completely unfair, I think the Government has had to find another solution, not to put the ball back at the municipalities because it's definitely problematic when it draws the means from budgetary positions that you have, and the projects that you have on top or projects are waiting for the next year, Ahmeti will say the euro court's pardon.

“We have sent it to the Constitutional Court as the Association of Kosovo municipalities and expect decision-making in the Constitutional Court, if, of course, the law is given the stability of constitutionality, we will review this possibility, even though I am very convinced that it will cause us extraordinary difficulties”, Ahmeti says.

The leader of Lipjan has also pressed charges in the direction of the Government, which he says has increased the tax rate in Property without any consultation with municipalities.

He says the executive doesn't mind the citizen.

If there's so much interest in citizens to forgive 100 euros, then let's forgive the government why it's in municipalities, let's subsist these budgetary tools and let them forgive, but the first one could not raise them at all, without any kind of consultation with any municipality has increased the tax rate on property, I think we all know it, and after having no growth defect it has come to a moment that the municipality wants to throw the ball to forgive the municipalities. In fact, municipalities may not be forced by years to come but not to forgive because the law does not allow this situation, so we have our differences and we expect the constitutional court to make a decision”, he said. / EO/
