Patients wait up to 6 months for operations in Abdominal Surgery

One of them is Ismet Musa, who says he is facing severe pain, and in spite of that has been recommended to the term for surgical intervention.

In his medical report, he writes that he has “inal engineering”, known as a key to his hip, but despite being in serious condition, he has to wait six months for surgery.

I went to a painful emergency and was told that within half an hour I have to go into surgery. They wanted me into surgery and when I asked them if they'd put the net on me, they told me I had to go to Abdominal Surgery. I went, I consulted doctors, five doctors checked me out and told me I had to go into surgery, mostly in 10 days. When I went to the director of Abdominal Surgery, I was told that the principal is on vacation, and some of his deputies told me I should wait 6 months”, Musa said.

And to wait six months, he says he is impossible because the severe pains that surface at certain times are difficult to deal with.

Musa says there is no financial opportunity to address the private sector.

This is not the case that waits six months. If the case was six months, it would be normal, but it's not the case that a man can wait six months for an operation, because I have so much pain. I need surgery as soon as possible. On a veteran salary, I cannot go in private because it costs 700, 800 and up to 1,000 euros. I'm gonna retire 204 euros. What about them? I was very disappointed with Abdominal Surgery”, he said.

After recommending that he wait months, he says he has no solution left.

KOHA has also talked to other patients who have indicated that they have had to wait about five months to undergo surgery. Meanwhile, another patient who has come last week to set the term, has said it was announced by health personnel that the term could be assigned by early December.

KOHA has sent questions to the Kosovo Clinical and University Hospital Service to learn the reasons for waiting lists at Abdominal Surgery, but since Tuesday it has not been answered. /Periscope
