Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has indicated that some of the persons involved in the riots occurred in northern Kosovo a few months ago were members of the Wagner mercenary group.
Kurti gave an interview to Estonian media “Delfi”, where she spoke of growing concerns about Russia's continued involvement in tensions added between Serbia and Kosovo, especially in northern municipalities.
He said you had received the threatening <x0-letter from terrorists” over the sequencing of a large amount of arms and ammunition in the country's north by Kosovo Police.
The head of the Kosovo government also spoke of possessing evidence that “some of the Serbs who boycotted the elections were linked to the Wagner group, some even members of the Eurogroup”.
“Day we have seized a large quantity of ammunition and tinnikovs from a house in a Serb majority municipality in northern Kosovo. Shortly before I was in the interview, I received another threatening letter from terrorists, which said mockingly that the weapons we had seized were only a small part of their” equipment, declared Kurti. Asked if he thinks Russia is involved in the tense situation in Kosovo, Kurti said there were “evidence that some Serbs who boycotted the elections were connected to the Wagner group, even some of them were members of the” group.
Kurti has also said members of the Wagner group and the Night Wolfers, a Russian motorcycle club known for its close connection to the Kremlin, had entered Kosovo from Serbia last December. According to him, these persons had established close ties with terrorist organisations operating in the region.
“We have evidence that some of the Serbs who boycotted the elections were linked to the Wagner group, even some of them were members of the group. Several members of Wagner and the Night Wolfes (a furious Russian motorcycle club supported by the Kremlin éd.) came to Kosovo from Serbia last December and have close ties with the two terrorist organisations. And a terrorist organisation is sending death threats to me and my interior minister”, he said.
