European Union spokesman Peter Stano has said it is important to hold local and inclusive elections as soon as possible in the four northern municipalities, where Kosovo Serbs participate without preconditions.
“As far as elections are concerned, even though partial elections for mayors held in April 2023 in the four northern Kosovo municipalities were held in accordance with Kosovo's legal framework, we have been very clear that because of very low turnout, they have not offered a long-term political solution. Therefore, it is important that the comprehensive local elections, where Kosovo Serbs participate without preconditions, be organised as soon as we can”, Stano said yesterday about “COHA”
Okay, Stano has recalled the commitment Kosovo has taken to Bratislava for the de-pass and has said Kosovo and Serbia should refrain from any uncoordinated action.
“The EU underlines the High Representative's statement on behalf of the EU on June 3rd, 2023, which urged Kosovo and Serbia to take measures to decelerate the situation and refrain from any further uncoordinated action. Kosovo engaged in these principles in Bratislava in July 2023”, he stressed
