The relief benefits Kosovo citizens in Austria as visitors, Kosovo citizens passing through Austria as well as Kosovo citizens with temporary stays in Austria.
The embassy reports that this relief is not yet valid for all those Kosovo citizens who in Austria have their regular stance with residence permits.

The Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Austria reports that since September 1, 2023, after changing Austria's Federal Law and the respective act of passage through Austria with a driver's license from the Republic of Kosovo.
These categories benefit from this relief:
Kosovo citizens in Austria as visitors,
Kosovo citizens passing through Austria Transit,
Kosovo citizens who have a temporary position in Austria.
This Relief NOT yet applies to all those Kosovo citizens who in Austria have their regular stand with residence permits.
The Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Austria and the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo will continue their intensive commitment to full recognition of drivers, which will facilitate the conversion and full replacement of patent permits for citizens of the Republic of Kosovo with long term permits in Austria.
