Two Serbs accused of participating in violent protest in Leposaviq are repentantly guilty.

Pristina- At Wednesday's session at the Constitutional Court in Pristina, accused Sinisa Jevic and Ivan Sekuliq pleaded guilty that they tried to take part in the crowd gathered on 30 May 2023 in Leposaviq and take violent acts of hooliganism. Admitting guilt, the two accused did so after being read the indictment by special prosecutor Fikrije Feyzullahu.

I sincerely regret that I have risked not only myself but also my future and my family's, in the future I will see my own business and my family. I will not repeat such actions”, accused Jevic said.

Even accused Sekulic said he felt guilty and repented.

I regret that I have brought the tribunal and my family into this” situation, he said.

Admitting guilt on the part of the accused in the case was not even rejected by special prosecutor Feyzullahu,

Prosecutor Fejzullahu said that after the accused were consulted with their defenders, the prosecution considers that admission of guilt relates to the legal provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code and is consistent with material evidence in which the indictment is based, so it requires the court to accept the guilty plea.

After Judge Vesel Ismaili found that the court approved the guilty's plea, the hearing has continued with the final word.

Defending accused Jevic, lawyer Milos Delovic in the final address has asked the court to take into account the indictee's repentance and that the same one has failed to understand the consequences of his actions.

He demanded that after the defendant has not been convicted before and is a parent of three, the court will issue an easier sentence because a higher prison sentence would have a contradictory effect.

Even indictee Sekulic's defender, lawyer Lubomir Pantovic asked the tribunal that since the accused's actions have been no one at risk and that only pepper was found, a six-month prison sentence could be pronounced on him, which could be replaced with fines.

Under such circumstances, the hearings for this case have ended, while the plea was appointed on August 3, 2023.

By contrast, the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK), on July 24th 2023, has filed an indictment against Sinisa Javiq and Ivan Sekulic, since the same people have attempted to participate in the assembled crowd and to take violent actions of hooliganism on May 30th 2023, at the Jarinje border crossing, the Leposavic Commission, which had crossed the border and in co-chairs have taken on all preparations actions, armed with knives, scavenging Serbia's banners, due to overall risk items. According to the indictment, the same being in contact with other crowd participants in Leposaviq have agreed to join the violent crowd of Serb protesters on May 29th 2023, with what protesters had been practicing uncontrolled violence by strong means, improvised explosive devices, and firearms, where 30 members of KFOR, Kosovo Police, and journalists' cars were injured.

The Actakuz says the accused had been stopped by members of Kosovo Police and thus unable to participate in the above-mentioned crowd

Therefore, the accused in co-ordination are accused of committing criminal work “The participation in the crowd that committed and criminal acts of hooliganism” by Article 404, paragraph 1 and 3 related to Article 28 and 31 of the Republic of Kosovo Penal Code.

Always according to the indictment, accused Sekulic in time and place described as above, after being stopped by police members during car search, found and seized four sprays and spray peppers, for which there was no authorization to hold.
