The death toll as a result of forest fires has reached 96 on Sunday, turning the last disaster into Hawaii as the worst in the United States in more than a century.
According to Governor Green, it will take more than 10 days to find out the exact number of victims.
Nearly all the towns of Lahaina have been destroyed by fire.
There's nothing left to see except destruction”, Green said of CBS.
He has said that all of Lahaina's inhabitants have fled or suffered fire.
By Saturday, officials have said that only 3 per cent of the territory in Lahaina has been tracked.
Other countries' teams have been sent to aid, with the goal of identifying victims.
The deadly fire in Lahaina is still active, although most have been extinguished, according to Maui district authorities.
How the fire has begun is unknown, although it is considered driven by the hot winds of Hurricane Dora in the vicinity. / REL
