Former Kosovo diplomat and Kosovo Democratic Party deputy Enver Hoxhaj has written on the 13th anniversary of the JND decision on the independence of the Republic of Kosovo.
Hoxhaj has said and in this anniversary of this decision, Kosovo's foreign policy has been reversed, strategic partnership with the US and the EU has been dismantled and normalisation with Serbia has been replaced with crisis management, which according to Hoxhaj shows that Kosovo cannot government in that part of the territory.
This happens when foreign policy is not based on the real assessment of the situation and does not follow Kosovo's state interest, but is guided by ideological foolishness and the personal frustration of a blind policy”, Hoxhaj wrote.
Full response:
On the anniversary of our victory in the JND, which strongly confirmed the legality and legitimacy of our independence, today foreign policy has been reversed, strategic partnership with the US and the EU has been dismantled and interstate normalisation with Serbia has been replaced with crisis management in the north of the country, pointing to the world that Kosovo cannot govern that part of its territory! This happens when foreign policy is not based on the real assessment of the situation and does not follow Kosovo's state interest, but is guided by ideological foolishness and the personal frustration of a blind policy.
An anniversary like this could serve to show the world that Serbia still functions as an enemy of Kosovo and an opponent of the West, and that universal recognition, membership in international organisations and deepening partnership with the US and the EU is in the interest of Kosovo and liberal peace in Europe. Today, the JND decision is remembered as a historic date and not a political platform in ending Kosovo's citizenship, since those who lead neither know nor dare to fulfill Kosovo's state interest!
