In the quarterfinals he will play against tennis number one on the ATP list, his co-ager Carlos Alkaraz. With 3:1 in the set, the Spaniard was better than Wimbledon's finalist from 2021, Matteo Berrettini. Every set ended with a score of 6:3 in the match.
After the Italian won first, Alkaraz turned the match in his favor. The winner of the quarterfinals between Alkaraz and Rune will go to the winner of the match between Danilo Medvedev and Christopher Eubanks.
On the other side of the lot is Novak Djokovic, who will face Andrej Rubljov tomorrow 11 July.
