Woman “dead” breathing in a coffin, returning to hospital

The mourners during a Ecuadoran - age woman's burial ceremony were surprised to discover that she was still alive.

Bella Montaya, aged 76, was declared lifeless last week after she suffered stroke.

On Friday, five hours after the funeral ceremony, her relatives found the elderly one trying to breathe.

By now, Montoya has returned to the hospital in intensive care, while the Ecuador Health Ministry has established a commission to investigate the case.

In an official statement, the ministry has suggested that the woman in question, suffered cardio-respiratory arrest and was not mentioned after attempts to bring her back to life.

The doctor on duty confirmed her death.

His son, Gilber Rodolfo Belberan Montoya, told local media that his mother was hospitalized about 9:00 in the morning, and at noon the doctor told her she died.

Montoya was later placed in the coffin for several hours until her relatives recognized that she was trying to breathe.

This scene appears in videos that are being circulated through social networks.

At the time of the incident, the doctors went to observe her condition.

Currently, she is in intensive care at the same hospital from which she was declared dead.

The AFP news agency quoted Balberan as saying: “I am trying to understand step by step what happened. I'm just praying that my mother's health will improve. I want him alive and beside me. ” /Periscopi/
