Kurti: KFOR had mandated to prevent kidnapping attack

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, reporting to the country's recent situation caused in the north, following the kidnapping of three Kosovo police officers by Serb forces within Kosovo's territory, has said Kosovo “does not allow to be subjected by Vucit's fascist militia. Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said KFOR would have to intervene against the kidnapping of police officers in Leposaviq by Serb forces, as he said it was the responsibility of this institution.
He declared on Thursday in the Kosovo Assembly that he is still awaiting the answer and receiving effective responsibility.
“We are still awaiting KFOR's pending effective responsibility for exercising its defence function by ordering Serbia to bring back kidnapped police and punish this flagrant violation of territorial integrity, sovereignty, but also Article 4 of the Kumanovo Agreement. The 4th point of June 9th, 1999. KFOR therefore should not be silent or humble against the kidnapping attack that had the mandate to prevent. If he turns this silence to the norm, and a certain silent submission known by law, then let him tell us openly, and he will deny an international responsibility that had to effectively meet”, Kurti said.
What we saw yesterday is revenge on one side, aggression on the other. The establishment of revenge as an instrument to acts of rule of law is not only barbarous thinking, but the indicator of Serbia's leadership from the northeast has despots of the northeast, not the US and EU. Revenge in the most inhuman and weak form is openly denounced and opposed by law enforcement. The government will do everything to release police officers” from kidnapping, he added.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has demanded effective responsibility from KFOR for its defence post in the north. He has said KFOR had to protect Kosovo in the northern part, the moment Serb forces kidnapped three Kosovo police officers within Kosovo's territory.
“We are expecting KFOR to take effective responsibility for exercising its defence function by ordering Serbia to return kidnapped persons to Kosovo and punish this flagrant violation of territorial integrity, the sovereignty of our country and the fourth point of the Kumanovo Agreement. KFOR must be silent or humble. If KFOR turns this silence to the norm, and some silent submission to the law, which is publicly known, it will tell us openly and thus deny an international responsibility that had to effectively meet”, he has said.
