Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu has spoken about the first point Prime Minister Albin Kurti has proposed to the ambassadors of the QUINT countries for the extension of the situation in the north, which concerns rule of law.
According to Haxhiu, justice institutions appear to be in charge and take action in line with their responsibilities.
The first “Pica in Prime Minister Kurti's letter: To immediately ensure the rule of law in four municipalities north of the Republic of Kosovo, including identification, prosecution and fair trial of all members of criminal groups that have attacked the Kosovo Police, NATO members and journalists”.
After the strong commitment by the Republic of Kosovo police is vital for justice institutions to be in charge and take action in line with their responsibilities, Haxhiu has said.
According to Haxhiu, criminal acts of criminal groups should not be tolerated or ignored.
There is no way to tolerate or neglect criminal acts of criminal groups. The attacks on police, media or NATO members and actions that violate constitutional order should not be normalised but followed and punished”, it has written.
She has said some members of criminal groups are in custody, but there are three cases of suspected persons being released in regular procedures.
At once and without delay, each criminal must be identified, prosecuted and tried for their criminal actions”, Haxhiu said.
