Escobar: Always near the people of Kosovo, but that doesn't mean we're going to be a side of an individual.

US Emsier for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar, at a meeting with reporters, has talked about what is currently happening regarding the north, the US report on Kosovo, and the current positions of Prime Minister Albin Kurti. Escobar has said he regrets being in Kosovo under these circumstances and said [...]
Escobar has said he regrets that he is in Kosovo under these circumstances and has said that the US report with Kosovo is a report between countries and people and as such does not change.
I'm sorry to be here under these conditions. But I want to stress for people that the US and Kosovo report is through people of our countries, and it is strong and it doesn't change. We will continue to be your supporter in the international community. We are committed to your independence, territorial integrity, security and economic perspective. When I talk to people all over the country and the Kosovars who come to Washington, we always talk about the great opportunities that exist between our two countries”, Escobar said.
“I hope people realize that whatever difficulties we have with the prime minister, it doesn't affect this session. But we have some challenges in the state report working with the prime minister. You know, I'll be very honest. The US has been your biggest supporter and it pains me that some people think that in a way that we are directing our report with Kosovo to the benefit of Serbia”, Escobar said, Express reported.
He has said that Serbia has been consistently against Kosovo, even citing the election case, and says the US has stood by Kosovo saying the elections were fair and free.
“I want to remind people that Serbia has been against Kosovo independence in 2008, against our campaign for recognition and we have moved forward, even in the Council of Europe has been against, against elections, and even against results, and we said that elections were free and fer”, has added to the American emissar.
But he says the problem arose after they asked the Kosovo government how to proceed after that and when they gave him some concrete suggestions.
Escobar has spoken of the prime minister's insistence on forceing mayors to municipal facilities. Here is an example of how government buildings had to be abandoned in the United States when there were floods, fires or protests, and no one questioned the legitimacy of the US and American authorities
But when we asked Government to think about how it would work after that and we gave it some concrete suggestions after that. I'll give you an example. I've been in Government for many years and when we say we don't turn on even more delicate situations and it was a insistence on going by force and putting the mayors in municipal facilities. I've been in the U.S. government since I was 19, and I've started with the military, and I've seen that objects are abandoned because of the floods, fires, screws and protests, and no one has questioned the legitimacy and authority of the American government”, Escobar adds.
When you show this example, Escobar continues with the question of why this insistence on bringing the mayors to the objects, why, under the circumstances they were and why, after the Kosovo government was requested, was not co-ordinated.
Escobar says such an action by Kurti government tells something about the US, about how they view it as a partner.
He says that for such an act there have been consequences, and has clarified that the word sanctions should be used for those measures.
So why these objects, why, under these circumstances, why, after we looked for coordinates even though we stayed behind them, and they weren't coordinated. That means something to us, about how they view us as partners. And there have been consequences. I've seen people use the word sanctions, but it's sanctions”, Escobar said.
The American e-mail says they don't want to risk co-ordination and partnership with this government. Escobar points out that the US always stands ready to support the people of Kosovo, but says this does not mean that it should support individuals who do not share the instinct to co-operate and co-ordinate.
Escobar says they are completely confused but completely co-ordinated and united with the EU and the closest allies.
He asks why this is happening, why this lack of co-ordination and lack of vision to overcome the situation and move towards the possibilities of the agreement reached in Ohrid.
“In a way, we don't want to risk co-ordination and partnership with this government. We stand ready, we will always stay the people of Kosovo, but that does not mean that we have to stay with individuals who do not share the instinct to co-operate and co-ordinate. And I mean, we are completely confused but completely united with the EU, the closest allies.
And why this is happening, why this lack of co-ordination and lack of political vision and flexibility to overcome this and move forward towards the possibilities that were presented in the deal reached”, Escobar said.
