Court decision: A Month of Jail Against Double Murder Suspect in Gjakova

The Constitutional Court in Gjakova has approved Gjakova's Constitutional Prosecutor's request, assigning the detention measure a month to the JG defendant. G., due to suspicion that he committed a criminal murder and possession without authorisation of weapons”, the court reported.

According to a request for the appointment of the same detention as June 25, 2023, about 20:20, in the village of Madanay, Gjakova, has deliberately deprived two brothers H. I. and B. I., from the village of Madanaj and this because of a property dispute.

The defendant's actions allegedly committed two criminal acts, ” heavy murder” and criminal work “retaining unauthorized possession or possession of arms”, actions sanctioned with the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.

Pre-procedure Judge Drilon Harachia, at the hearing held at hospital facilities where the defendant is found for medical treatment, has estimated that legal conditions for the appointment of the detention measure to the defendant in question have been met, because we are dealing with serious criminal acts.

The defendant will be held in detention for a month, which will be counted from the time of arrest on June 25, 2023 and will last until July 25, 2023.

The sides have the right to appeal to this decision at the Kosovo Court of Appeals.
