Commander Red Apple Remzi Shala is sentenced to nine years and six months in prison for war crimes

Shala, known as commander “Red Mola” was charged with being taken by H.P. from his home, and after a few days the dead man's lifeless body was found near the road near the centre of the village of Duthal.
The indictment was announced on Tuesday by the head of the court, Raima Elezi, reports “The Justice Trust”.
According to the indictment, the accused is obliged to also pay the expenses of the criminal procedure in the amount of 500 euros on behalf of the judiciary and 50 euros for the crime victims' funding.
The damaged side, for the implementation of the property-juridical demand, has been directed to regular civil conflicts.
The disgruntled parties, against this act, have the right to complaint in the 30-day term at the Court of Appeals.
Otherwise, the Constitutional Court in Prizren, in July 2019, had taken a plea, with which the accused Shala had convicted him of criminal work “wage war crimes against the civilian population”, condemning him to 14 years in prison.
Following the defence complaint, the Court of Appeals had amended the first degree of judgment, bringing Shala's sentence to 10 years in prison.
The request for protection of legitimacy in the Supreme Court had submitted the defender of the accused Shala, lawyer Natal Bulakaj.
The Supreme Court, in May 2020, had turned the case into a first - degree retrial.
Former Commander The KLA, Remzi Shala, known as commander “The Red Mola”, was accused by the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK), of killing a civilian during the recent war in Kosovo.
Shala was accused by P SRK that during wartime in Kosovo, on June 26, 1998, acting as a member of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK), along with several other unidentified members, have taken the H.P. victim from his home.
Always according to the indictment, Remzi Shala, who was the only one with no mask on his head, along with 5-6 other KLA members disguised, under suspicion that the deceased was a collaborator of Serbian forces, have gone to the village of Dudhl and the same have been sent to an unknown location.
The charge states that the victim's son, A. P, he had seen them leave, along with his father, in the direction of the village of Gryqevc, and after a few days the dead man's lifeless body had been found near the road, near the village center of Duhdhl.
