We remember that the situation in the north was tense following Prime Minister Albin Kurti's decision, which had ordered the installation of northern municipal heads in municipal buildings.

With concern I received news that three citizens of the Podujevo municipality have been arrested at the border between Kosovo and Serbia in Merdar.
According to the information we have accepted them, it has been assigned to the detention measure for 48 hours by Serbian authorities, while the motives of their arrest are unknown unless we suspect they are vengeful and are connecting to the situation in the country's north.
The arrest and detention of three of our fellow citizens is unacceptable and I ask Kosovo institutions to be fully engaged in their case, working with competent instances for their release.
