And this situation according to education connoisseurs is disturbing, but most disturbing, according to them, is not the response from domestic institutions. They say no steps are at stake, even closing schools.
“Institute Director EdGard”, Youth Qehaja, said the number of these demographic declines is not surprising, but institutional failure to adapt sustainable policies to this demographic decline in the number of students.
He added that the decline in the number of students would also directly impact the structure of educational organisation.
Qehaja called for responsible institutions to make a literal analysis of feasibility on the true demographic situation.
The number of students will undoubtedly be converted and will have direct impact there even in the structure of educational organisation. So also the necessity of having first a real feasibility analysis of what the real demographic situation is, what the demographic projections are, so that they respond to investments in infrastructure, recruiting teachers and distributing teaching classes”.
The number of schools in rural areas in particular has to be restructured and restored there for pre-school educational purposes. Yes, necessarily redestination and restructuring of schools will be super present at the country's future level due to this demographic decline and investments in opening schools for electoral benefits without any real analysis of demographic projections”, he said.
The Knower of the Silver Education Issues Osmani said such a large loss of student numbers would have this consequence, according to him, the country continues to be threatened by this outgoing trend.
According to him, they are also in danger of closing schools if responsible institutions do not take the necessary steps.
There is no doubt that the closure of schools is a beautiful phenomenon spread across many mainly rural settlements, where many schools are closed but that this trend will continue in the future. I think it's going to be very difficult because we see that there's been a great hope that there will be changes, with the government changing that will be fighting corruption, there will be a more rapid growth, and it's seen in the population that is a disappointment because the problems have accumulated for a very long time. The population has lost hope and desperately wanted to emigrate”, he said.
According to these statistics published by the GAP Institute, the largest decline in the number of students is in the municipalities of Kamenica and Junik (-53%), Rahoveci, Dragas and Vitia (-45%), and Gjilan and Suhareka (-41%). Meanwhile, the report's summary reportedly has remained almost the same since the 2013/2014 school year.
