The manager of the American Agency for International Development (USAID), Samantha Power, will stay for visit to Kosovo today ( Thursday).
It remained a day earlier in Serbia, there will be meetings in Kosovo during today's afternoon as well as Friday, while American and European diplomats work to stabilise relations between these two former wartime enemies at a time of increased tensions.
After meetings with state leaders in Serbia, the USAID chief has stated that normalising reports between Kosovo and Serbia requires political courage but would bring economic benefits.
Power will also meet in Kosovo with members of civil society, business leaders, journalists and others, including former Serbian NBA player Vlade Divac and disabled athletes.
It will be the first senior official of the American government to travel to the region since the European Union brokered a meeting between the leaders of the two countries last week in Brussels, encouraging them to devote themselves to peaceful dialogue.
