Von Croamon proposes to the EP '%s' to demand Serbia lifts its vote against Kosovo in KiE

Today in the European Parliament, the European Commission's report for Kosovo last year will be discussed. The Kosovo rapporteur for the EP, Violet von Cromon, will present this resolution. In addition to the Kosovo resolution, at today's plenary session in Strasbourg, Serbia will be discussed. Voting on these resolutions is expected to take place [...]
The vote on these resolutions is expected to take place Wednesday.
In the report that Cremon, published on the EU page, it is said to demand that the EP also adopt a paragraph urging Serbia to lift its vote against Kosovo membership in the Council of Europe, stressing that it conflicts with the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia.
“Express regret that Kosovo is currently the only European democracy that is not yet a member of the Council of Europe; it urges the international community to pressure Serbia to refrain from trying to isolate the neighbouring country of Kosovo from the international scene by campaigning against its recognition or by excluding the country from international organisations; calls on Serbia to lift its blocking vote that prevents Kosovo from being a member of the Council of Europe and other international organisations, which would otherwise conflict with the 2013 agreement between Kosovo and Serbia for normalisation of relations; highlights that Kosovo Serbs will benefit from Kosovo's Council of Europe, as this would allow Kosovo to file for human rights in the European Court of Human Rights, between the next instance, the Commission, which is to submit to the European Court of Human Rights.
Kosovo's application to the European Union is also welcomed.
“welcomes support statements for Kosovo's EU membership application by government representatives from Austria, Croatia, Chekhia, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Holland and Sweden”.
This report calls on EU member states that have not yet recognised Kosovo as sovereign state, Spain, Slovakia, Cyprus, Romania and Greece, to do so without further delay and thus allow Kosovo to progress on its European path on equal grounds with candidate countries.
Meanwhile, Serbia is expected to be required to adapt its positions to foreign policy with those of the EU, including the deployment of sanctions against Russia.
Both countries are required to implement the commitments made by the agreements reached and that the comprehensive normalisation of the reports will be achieved through mutual recognition.
