She vowed to implement agreements with Serbia today, including the establishment of the Serb Majority Commission Association.
After reaching the February 27th agreement in Brussels and March 18th in Ohrid, interviews of Prime Minister Kurti and President Osmani for international media have been reduced. However, one was published today by Osman himself.
Osman began talking about the Declaration of Unrighteous Persons, which he said:
I believe this is one of the greatest achievements in the dialogue process because it's one of those agreements that directly affects the lives of our people,”
President Osmani voiced hope that Serbia would implement this agreement.
Shortly thereafter, she was asked about the Association of Serb-run municipalities.
“Why is Kosovo against creating such an association?” was the question the president answered.
“has had nearly 40 agreements reached in Brussels between the leaders of Kosovo and Serbia in the past 11 years. The issue of association was just one of the deals. It should be mentioned that most of these agreements have not been implemented by Serbia, including the obligation to recognise Kosovo documents...” ) started its argument on the issue.
All agreements must be postponed to be implemented. Kosovo is not leaving its obligations. What we are willing to offer is to give everything based on European standards to accommodate the rights of Serbs. But, not giving Serbia an instrument through which they will constantly violate Kosovo as an independent state,” ) now declared Mrs. Osman.
The country's president was also asked what she was doing to better integrate Kosovo Serbs into the country's institutions.
She said the Serb boycott in the April 23rd elections was not voluntary, but mandatory by Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vucinqi. Osmani accused Serbia of having <x0 illegal interventions in another state's elections” stressing that this was the main point.
But we also need to understand from history that normalisation of relations can be achieved only through mutual recognition,” ) is now expressed.
We remember that the country's president had named “obsolutely disappointing” the lack of mutual recognition in the Brussels/Ohri Agreement.
