Full Posting:

Strong tensions in northern Kosovo.

Dear friends, the start of the task of new co-communants in northern Kosovo municipalities brought reaction from Serbia's Vucic, manipulation of Serb groups in these municipalities, and strong local tensions. Condemning Belgrade's continued manipulation of Serbs in northern Kosovo and supporting the right of Kosovo authorities to establish law on their country's entire territory, I urge these authorities to avoid rising tensions and in co-operation and co-ordination with KFOR and key partners NATO, the European Union and the US, take appropriate steps to raising the situation, restoring dialogue and implementing the Ohrid Agreement, as the best interest of the Republic of Kosovo and its citizens, peace and stability in the region”.
