VV deputy Burim Meta has commented on the Civil Code Project, which has failed to be approved in the Assembly. Meta announced that he has criticised four points of this draft-Codi, including the article that allows marriage and co-existence among persons of the same sex.
He stressed that this article should be discussed and what it can do for itself (Meta) and some who are opposing it, is the preservation of the traditional family, adding that traditional families do not target patriarchal or conservative families, but, biological families, made up of marriage mates of different genders.
“ ...it has to be discussed here because we don't think that actually for traditional families, it's not being targeted in those families here, because we didn't think it was actually needed for these traditional families, and I don't think that with traditional families, like we were in patriarchal or conservative, it's about biological families. Even with the family law and other laws known who makes up the family, it is made up of marriage mates who are of different genders...”, Meta said at “Around the corner of Scroll”. /Dukagini
